Erneute internationale Auszeichnung für das Lucerne Blues Festival

Martin Bründler erhält europäischen Blues Award

Die European Blues Union (EBU) zeichnet den Präsidenten des Lucerne Blues Festivals, Martin „Kari“ Bründler, aus: Er erhält den "European Blues Behind The Scenes Award 2017" in der Kategorie Veranstalter für sein Engagement in der „Leitung eines der besten und bedeutendsten Blues Festivals weltweit“.

Die Verleihung fand am 8. April 2017 in Dänemark im Rahmen der 7. European Blues Challenge (EBC) statt. Das 23. Lucerne Blues Festival geht vom 11. bis 19. November 2017 über die Bühne. Auch nach dem Pächterwechsel im Hotel Seeburg Luzern findet der Bluesbrunch am Sonntag, 12. November 2017 dort im üblichen Rahmen statt.

Die European Blues Union vergibt jedes Jahr die „Blues Behind The Scenes Awards“, um Personen oder Organisationen auszuzeichnen, die einen bedeutenden Beitrag leisten, um den Blues in Europa voranzubringen. Personen, deren Namen in der Regel der Öffentlichkeit wenig bekannt sind, die sich aber hinter den Kulissen mit Engagement und Herzblut für den Blues einsetzen. Die Awards werden in den drei Kategorien Medien, Veranstalter und Produktion vergeben.

Das Lucerne Blues Festival ist stolz, dass Präsident Martin „Kari“ Bründler den Award 2017 in der Kategorie Veranstalter erhält. Auch nach 20-jährigem Bestehen und hochklassigen Programmen  während all dieser Jahre biete das Luzern Blues Festival eine einmalige Gelegenheit, den wahren, echten Blues live zu erleben, heisst es in der Begründung der EBU. „Von Anfang an wurde das Festival als gemeinnützige Veranstaltung ohne finanzielle Interessen konzipiert. Das Luzerner Blues Festival ist zu einer Institution geworden und gehört für Kenner zu den weltweit kompetentesten und bedeutendsten Blues-Festivals“, schreibt die EBU. Martin Bründler erhalte den Award „für sein Engagement, die Festival Philosophie permanent aufrecht zu erhalten, erstklassige Künstler zu präsentieren und eines der besten Festivals weltweit zu leiten.

„Kari“ Bründler, der das Amt als Präsident des Lucerne Blues Festivals 2015 übernahm, freut sich über die Auszeichnung, will sie aber nicht für sich alleine beanspruchen. „Ich bin zwar die Person, die den Award bekommt, ausgezeichnet wird aber unser ganzes Festival. Am Erfolg sind alle Mitglieder unseres ehrenamtlichen OK massgeblich beteiligt. Die Ehrung durch die EBU zeigt erneut, dass unser Konzept richtig ist und bestärkt uns, auf dem eingeschlagenen Weg zu bleiben.

Die Verleihung der "Blues Behind The Scenes Award 2017" fand am Samstag, 8. April 2017 im Rahmen der 7. European Blues Challenge in Horsens, Dänemark, statt. “Kari” Bründler hat den Award persönlich in Horsens in Empfang genommen.

Die European Blues Union wurde 2011 gegründet und ist als Dachorganisation des europäischen Blues in 19 Ländern aktiv. An der European Blues Challenge wird auch jeweils die beste Blues Band Europas gewählt, die sich über Ausscheidungen/Wahlen in ihren Ländern für den Contest qualifiziert haben.

Das Lucerne Blues Festival wurde wegen der Qualität des Programms und der einzigartigen Gastfreundschaft bereits 2007 von der amerikanischen Blues Foundation mit dem „Keeping the Blues Alive“-Award ausgezeichnet.

Das 23. Lucerne Blues Festival geht vom 11. bis 19. November 2017 über die Bühne. Jeweils am ersten Festivalsonntag gibt es im Luzerner Hotel Seeburg einer von drei Blues Brunches. Nachdem das Hotel neu verpachtet wurde, hat die Festivalleitung unverzüglich Kontakt mit den neuen Pächtern aufgenommen. Diese haben bestätigt, dass der Blues Brunch am Sonntag, 12. November 2017 im gewohnten Rahmen im Hotel Seeburg stattfinden wird. Reservationen für die Blues Brunches sind direkt in den Hotels Seeburg oder Schweizerhof vorzunehmen. Der Vorverkauf für die Konzerte vom 16. bis 18. November 2017 im Grand Casino Luzern beginnt Ende August 2017.

Martin Bruendler receives European Blues Award

The European Blues Union (EBU) honored the President of the Lucerne Blues Festival, Martin "Carl" Bruendler. He received the "European Blues Behind The Scenes Award 2017" in the category "Promoters" for his commitment to "lead one of the best and most important Blues festivals worldwide". The award ceremony took place on April 8, 2017 in Denmark as part of the 7th European Blues Challenge (EBC). The 23rd Annual Lucerne Blues Festival will take place from November 11-19, 2017. Even after the change of tenants at the Hotel Seeburg Lucerne, the Blues Brunch will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the usual setting.

The European Blues Union (EBU) awards the "Blues Behind The Scenes Awards" every year to distinguish individuals or organizations that make a significant contribution to the Blues in Europe. People whose names are generally not well known to the public, but who are committed to the Blues behind the scenes with dedication and heart blood. The awards are given in the three categories: media, promoter and production.

The Lucerne Blues Festival is proud of the fact that President Martin "Carl" Bruendler has been honored with the 2017 award in the category “Promoter”. Even after 20 years of existence and high-class programs during all these years, the Annual Lucerne Blues Festival offers a unique opportunity to experience real and true Blues live, according to the EBU's explanatory statement. "From the beginning, the Lucerne Blues Festival was conceived as a non-profit organization without financial interests. The festival has become an institution and is one of the most competent and important Blues festivals worldwide for connoisseurs ", writes the EBU. Martin Bruendler received the award "for his commitment to maintain the festival’s philosophy permanently, to present first-class artists and to lead one of the best festivals worldwide."

Martin "Carl" Bruendler who took over as chairman of the Lucerne Blues Festival in 2015, is delighted about the award, but does not want to claim it on his own. "I am the person who receives the award, but the whole festival is excellent. All members of our voluntary committee are decisively involved in the success. The award by the EBU once again shows that our concept is the right one and encourages us to remain on the paved path."

The “European Blues Behind The Scenes Award 2017” was presented at the 7th European Blues Challenge in Horsens, Denmark on Saturday April 8, 2017. Martin "Carl" Bruendler received the award personally in Horsens.

The European Blues Union was founded in 2011 and is an umbrella organization of European Blues in 19 countries. The Blues challenge also includes the best Blues bands in Europe, who have qualified for the contest through the elections in their countries.

The Lucerne Blues Festival was former honored with the "Keeping the Blues Alive" award by the American Blues Foundation in 2007 in Memphis TN due to the quality of the program and its unique hospitality.

The 23rd Annual Lucerne Blues Festival will take place from November 11-19, 2017. On the first Sunday of the festival, there will be one of the three Blues Brunches at the Hotel Seeburg Lucerne. After the hotel was newly rented, the Lucerne Blues Festival immediately took up contact with the new tenants. They have confirmed that the Blues Brunch will take place at the hotel Seeburg on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Reservations for the Blues Brunches can be made directly at the hotels Seeburg or Schweizerhof Lucerne. Advance sales for the concerts from November 16-18, 2017 at the Grand Casino Lucerne will start at the end of August 2017.
