Das Lucerne Blues Festival feiert Jubiläum - 25 Jahre Blues auf höchstem Niveau in Luzern

Lucerne Blues Festival spielen 14 Formationen im Grand Casino Luzern und präsentieren wieder Blues, Soul und Zydeco in verschiedensten Facetten und auf höchstem Niveau. Zum Jubiläum bringt das Festival einige besondere musikalische Überraschungen. Die Eröffnung findet am 9. November 2019 im Hotel Schweizerhof statt. Das Festival dauert bis am 17. November. Zum ersten Mal kommt es zu einer schönen Zusammenarbeit mit der Schweizer Paraplegiker Stiftung Nottwil.
Seit dem Start im Jahr 1995 haben die Organisatoren des Lucerne Blues Festival genau 302 Bands nach Luzern gebracht und für unzählige unvergessliche musikalische aber auch menschliche Sternstunden gesorgt. 25 Jahre lang ist es gelungen, dem Publikum immer Blues, Soul und Zydeco von den besten Künstlern des jeweiligen Stils zu bieten. Für die herausragende Qualität und die einzigartige Gastfreundschaft wurde das Lucerne Blues Festival auch mehrfach ausgezeichnet. „Was wir erreicht haben, macht uns stolz, ist aber auch Verpflichtung, so weiter zu machen. Viel Freude bereiten uns auch die vielen schönen Freundschaften, die in all den Jahren unter Musikern, Publikum und OK entstanden sind“, sagt Festivalpräsident Martin „Kari“ Bründler. “Und besonders wichtig ist, dass wir auch finanziell absolut auf Kurs sind. Dies war und ist aber nur möglich, dank unserer langjährigen Partnerschaften im Sponsoring und der guten Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Luzern. Dafür können wir nicht genug danken.“
Zum 25. Jubiläum zündet das Lucerne Blues Festival ein besonderes musikalisches Feuerwerk aus Blues, Soul und Zydeco (das Programm finden Sie anbei). „Nach 25 Jahren Blues auf höchstem Niveau in Luzern werden wir unserem Publikum und auch uns selbst einige ganz spezielle musikalische Sternstunden schenken“, verspricht Festivalpräsident Bründler. So kommen mit Shemekia Copeland eine der beeindruckendsten amerikanischen Sängerinnen und mit Kim Wilson’s Fabulous Thunderbirds eine der bekanntesten Blues Bands überhaupt nach Luzern. Und es gibt auch wieder zwei exklusive Formationen, die extra für das Lucerne Blues Festival zusammen gestellt worden sind: Der "European Blues Summit" und die "Chicago Blues Reunion" sind einmalige Produktionen, die es in diesen Besetzungen noch nie gegeben hat und vielleicht auch nie wieder geben wird.
Verbunden bleibt das Lucerne Blues Festival weiterhin dem Charity-Gedanken. Bereits zum vierten Mal findet zur Eröffnung des Festivals die Valiant Charity Night statt. Am eintrittsfreien Eröffnungskonzert werden wieder Spenden für die gemeinnützige Weihnachtsaktion der Luzerner Zeitung gesammelt. Unser Sponsor, die Valiant Bank, wird den gesammelten Betrag wieder aufstocken. Bis jetzt konnten insgesamt bereits 47’000 Franken gespendet werden. Das Eröffnungskonzert an der Valiant Charity Night am Samstag, 9.11.2019 um 20 Uhr im Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern bestreitet die Altered Five Blues Band - damit ist schon zur Eröffnung ein erster Höhepunkt garantiert. Ein Geschenk an die Luzerner Bluesfans ist auch die Festivaleröffnung im Casineum im Grand Casino Luzern am Mittwoch, 13.11.2019 ab 23 Uhr. Ohne Eintritt können sie die fantastischen Fabulous Thunderbirds erleben.
Nach wie vor gibt es auch die drei beliebten Blues Brunches im Hotel Schweizerhof. Den ersten am Sonntag, 10.11.2019 bestreitet Benny Turner mit dem Special Guest Billy Branch. Billy Price steht am zweiten Blues Brunch am Samstag, 16.11.2019 auf der Bühne. Und am Sonntag, 17.11.2019 sorgt Shemekia Copeland für den würdigen Abschluss des Lucerne Blues Festivals 2019. Tickets sind direkt im Hotel Schweizerhof erhältlich. Aufgrund der grossen Nachfrage empfiehlt sich eine frühzeitige Reservation.
Im Panoramasaal des Grand Casino Luzern sind wieder alle Sitzplätze nummeriert und können nur mit Platzkarten benützt werden. Diese beschränkt verfügbaren Platzkarten beinhalten ein Nachtessen (ohne Getränke). Nicht im Preis enthalten ist das eigentliche Eintritts- und Konzertticket. Die Platzkarten sind wie die Konzertbillette über Internet und an den Vorverkaufsstellen von Ticketcorner erhältlich. Der Vorverkauf für die Konzerte vom 14. bis 16. November 2019 im Grand Casino Luzern läuft ab sofort.
Zusammenarbeit mit der Schweizer Paraplegiker Stiftung Nottwil
Musik als Balsam für Körper und Seele
Musik hört man nicht nur, man fühlt sie. Gefühle rufen eine heilende Wirkung hervor, weshalb Musik längst als Therapie angeboten wird – auch für Patientinnen und Patienten des Schweizer Paraplegiker-Zentrums Nottwil (SPZ). Vor diesem Hintergrund kommt es 2019 zum ersten Mal zu einer Zusammenarbeit des Lucerne Blues Festival mit der Schweizer Paraplegiker Stiftung, zu der das SPZ gehört. Mit dem Konzert der Altered Five Blues Band will die „MittagsAkademie“ des Paraplegiker-Zentrums eine Brücke schlagen zwischen Musik und Therapie, Luzern und Nottwil, sowie dem Lucerne Blues Festival und dem SPZ. Dies wird auch das Thema eines Talks mit Martin Senn, ehemaliger SPZ-Patient, Hans Peter Gmünder, Direktor SPZ, Silvia Studer, Musiktherapeutin SPZ, und Martin „Kari“ Bründler, Präsident Lucerne Blues Festival, sein.
Im Rahmen dieser «MittagsAkademie» sind am 8. November 2019 alle Patientinnen und Patienten des SPZ und alle Mitarbeitenden eingeladen, sich auf andere Sichtweisen einzulassen und sich aufs Neue für die täglichen Herausforderungen zu motivieren. Zum Jubiläums-Auftakt des 25. Lucerne Blues Festivals taucht das SPZ mit der Altered Five Blues Band und weiteren Gästen in die Welt des Blues ein. Der Anlass ist nicht öffentlich.
The Lucerne Blues Festival is celebrating its anniversary - 25 years of Blues at highest level in Lucerne
At the 25th Lucerne Blues Festival, 14 formations will be playing at the Grand Casino Lucerne and once again presenting Blues, Soul and Zydeco in a variety of facets and at the highest level. There will be some musical surprises at the anniversary. The opening will take place on November 9, 2019 at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne. The festival will last until November 17th. For the first time there will be a cooperation with the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation Nottwil.
Since the beginning in 1995, the organizers of the Lucerne Blues Festival have brought exactly 302 bands to Lucerne and provided countless memorable musical highlights as well as human highlights. For 25 years, they succeeded in offering Blues, Soul and Zydeco to the audience from the best artists of their respective styles. The Lucerne Blues Festival has also won several awards for its outstanding quality and its unique hospitality. "We are proud of what we have achieved, but it is also an obligation to continue. We also enjoy the many beautiful friendships that have been formed over the years among musicians, audiences and the organization committee," says Festival President Martin "Kari" Bruendler. For the 25th anniversary, the Lucerne Blues Festival will spark a special musical firework made of Blues, Soul and Zydeco (please find the program attached). "After 25 years of Blues at the highest level in Lucerne, we will give our audience as well as ourselves some very special musical moments," promises Festival President Bruendler. Shemekia Copeland, one of the most impressive American singers and Kim Wilson's Fabulous Thunderbirds, one of the most famous blues bands ever, will come to Lucerne. And there are again two exclusive formations that have been put together especially for the Lucerne Blues Festival: The "European Blues Summit" and the "Chicago Blues Reunion" are unique productions that have never existed before in this composition and maybe never will again.
The Lucerne Blues Festival remains connected to the charity idea. For the fourth time, the Valiant Charity Night will take place at the opening night of the festival. At the entrance-free opening concert, donations will be collected for the non-profit Christmas campaign of the Luzerner Zeitung. Our sponsor, the Valiant Bank, will increase the collected amount. So far, a total of 47,000 swiss francs has been donated. At the opening concert of the Valiant Charity Night on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at 8 p.m.at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne, the Altered Five Blues Band will perform on stage – this guarantees a first highlight already at the opening night. A gift to the Lucerne Blues fans is also the opening of the festival at the Casineum in the Grand Casino Lucerne on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 at 11.00 p.m. Without any entrance fee you can experience the fantastic Fabulous Thunderbirds.
There are still the three popular blues brunches at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne. The first on Sunday, November10th, 2019 will be with Benny Turner featuring the special guest Billy Branch. Billy Price is on stage at the second Blues Brunch on Saturday, November 16th, 2019. And on Sunday, November 17th, 2019, Shemekia Copeland will guarantee a worthy conclusion of the 25th Lucerne Blues Festival 2019. Brunch tickets are available directly at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne. Due to the high demand, an early reservation is recommended.
In the Panoramasaal of the Grand Casino Lucerne all seats are numbered again and can be used only with a seat reservation ticket. This limited quantity of seat reservation tickets includes a dinner (excluding drinks). Not included in the price is the actual entry- and concert ticket. The seat reservation tickets and the concert entry tickets are available on the Internet and at the advance ticket agencies of Ticketcorner. The presale for the concerts from November 15th to 17th, 2019 at the Grand Casino Lucerne started already. Collaboration with the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation in Nottwil
Music as a balm for body and soul
You don't just hear music, you feel it. Feelings have a healing effect; therefore, music has been used as a therapy for a long time - also for patients of the Swiss Paraplegic Center. In this context, there will be a corporation between the Lucerne Blues Festival and the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation for the first time. With the concert of the Altered Five Blues Band, the "MittagsAkademie" of the Paraplegic Center wants to build a bridge between music and therapy, Lucerne and Nottwil, as well as the Lucerne Blues Festival and the Swiss Paraplegic Foundtaion. This will also be the subject of a talk between a patient and Hans Peter Gmuender, Director SPZ, Silvia Studer, music therapist SPZ, and Martin "Kari" Bründler, President Lucerne Blues Festival. Within the context of this "MittagsAkademie" all patients of the SPZ and all employees are invited to engage with different perspectives and to motivate themselves for the daily challenges. For the opening of the 25th Lucerne Blues Festival, the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation will dive into the world of Blues with concerts of the Altered Five Blues Band and other guests.
